CITY WATER:
City or municipal water is water that has been collected from a variety of sources:
- Groundwater or Aquifers
- Surface Water or Lakes & Rivers
The water is then treated (typically with Chlorine and/or Fluoride) before traveling through miles and miles of pipe to homes. These contaminants are needed to disinfect the water and must stay in the water while it is being distributed. Once it reaches your home, it is no longer necessary!
There is also the issue of hard water. Contrary to what many believe, city water supplies are often hard and contain high amounts of calcium and magnesium.
WELL WATER:
If you have a private well, the homeowner is responsible for the quality of the water. Many get a test done initially after building or buying the home, but then forget to have more done year after year to ensure the water is clean and safe to drink!
Many well water homeowners experience the following problems/contaminants:
- Sulfur
- Hardness
- Iron
- Bacteria
- Viruses
- and many more...
Most people don't really know much about the quality of their water, and typically don't know how to solve their water problems once they realize they have them. ***WE CAN HELP***
